Swim-A-THON 7.20.19

Posted by Fox Hall Summer Swim at Jul 12, 2019 8:10AM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Fox Hall Fins Swim-a-thon 2019
Saturday, July 20, 8:30-10:30
At the Fox Hall Pool

Swim Team Members, how many laps can you swim in an hour? No coaching, no “practice,” just come and join your teammates to see how many laps you can swim for a good cause!

Why? After Coach Charles and his family’s experience as Make-a-Wish recipients, we want to extend this opportunity to more kids in Greater Virginia.

How to Raise Money: Get sponsors! You can ask friends, neighbors, and family to sponsor you! You can get donation sponsorships per lap, or in a single donation. All money will go to the Make-a-Wish Foundation of Greater Virginia.

Our Goal is $1000. Other GRAL teams will be raising money for charities of their choice as well. Let’s see if we can put Fox Hall on top of the most charitable list!

Day of Event Details:
8:30-9:00 Check-in, turn in any money donated (checks made out to Fox Hall Fins or Cash), pick up lap counting sheet. There will be music, drinks and maybe we can even get the coaches to swim!
9:00-10:00 SWIM!! Parents can help count laps.
10:00-10:30 Team Breakfast to celebrate!

Donations may be turned in to the coaches until Friday, July 26th.

Attached is a form to track your donations. Hope to see everyone there!

The document swimathon_form.pdf was attached to this post.

Join us Thursday, July 18th from 5-7pm for our end of season awards and celebration!

First, we will gather at 5pm in the clubhouse for the awards ceremony. Participation awards will be distributed to all. Awards for MVP, Most Improved and the Coaches’ Award will be given for a girl and boy in each age group. The coaches will also give out some “fun” awards to the swimmers. 5- and 10-year swimmers will be recognized, as well as our Volunteer of the Year.

We will also take some time to thank our coaches for an OUTSTANDING SEASON! While not required, families are welcome to bring a hand-made card or other token of appreciation to thank our coaches for all they have done this year.

Afterwards, we will take the party outside to the pool for dinner and celebrating!

The Fins will be preparing BBQ and hot dogs as well as providing dessert. We are asking that families bring a side or other item to share. Please go to our sign-up genius if you are able to bring something.

We will also be selling BBQ to go for $8.00/pound, while supplies last. Please bring cash or a check made out to Fox Hall Fins. ALL PROCEEDS WILL BE GOING TO THE SWIM-A-THON!!!!

We hope everyone can join us!
